How to collect memorial photos with care

Choose one private place for photos and memories, tell the family who will see what they add, and give people time to add to it when they are ready. Download a copy for the family while the album is still available.

Before you start

  • One guest link for the notice, messages and any printed sign.
  • A clear note about who will see photos and written memories.
  • A person who can help relatives scan or open the link.
  • A reminder to download a family copy before the album closes.
  1. Make one album and check its dates

Create the album before the service or gathering. With GuestFlick, you sign in to manage it; people add photos and written memories in their browser without an app or an account. Check how long people can add to it and how long it stays up. Leave time after the service for people who are not ready yet.

  2. Decide who can see what is shared

Choose whether people with the link can see the photos, and whether you approve each photo before it appears. You can also set a passcode. Tell the family who will see what they share. Keep management and slideshow links private: share only the guest photo link.

  3. Invite relatives in plain words

Send the same guest link with a short note: “If you have a photo or a memory, you can add it here.” Include the link as text as well as a QR code when you send it digitally. Mention that people can add later, not only on the day.

  4. Make space for older photos

Ask for scanned prints and phone photos from earlier years, not only photos from the service. A helper can add photos for relatives who find the page hard to use. Put the relative’s name in the name box so the family knows who sent them.

  5. Place a sign where people can pause

If you print a sign, put it where someone can stop and use a phone without blocking others. Keep the words short and close to the code, such as “Add a photo or a memory.” A tappable link in the notice still helps anyone who cannot scan.

  6. Look through what arrived, then keep a family copy

Look through what arrived, hide anything that should not stay, and download the originals while the album is still available. Downloading everything is free. Keep a copy somewhere the family controls. If the family wants the album to stay up longer, see what you can add on the album’s Billing page.

Keep in mind

  • Sharing the link does not gather photos on its own. People choose what to add, and some will need time.
  • The guest link can be passed on. Use the gallery, passcode and approval controls to suit the family’s wishes.
  • The photos and memories people add are one more record of a life. They do not replace the family’s own copies.
