How to collect wedding guest photos without an app

Choose one place for the photos, share its link before the wedding, and put a QR sign where guests can stop and scan it. Ask someone you trust to try the whole journey before you print.

Before you start

  • One album link for the invitation, messages and printed signs.
  • A phone that is not signed in to your account for a test upload.
  • A person who can help guests scan and add photos on the day.
  • A reminder in your calendar to download a copy after the wedding.
  1. Choose one album and check its dates

Make the album before you send the invitation. With GuestFlick, you sign in to manage it; your guests add photos in their browser without an app or an account. Check the plan’s time to add photos and time to view the album. Leave room after the wedding for guests to send photos they did not add on the night.

  2. Decide who can see the photos

Choose whether guests can see the gallery and whether you want to approve photos before they appear. You can also set a passcode. Tell guests who will see what they share, and ask them to check with anyone in a photo before adding it. Keep your management and slideshow links off the invitation: share the guest photo link.

  3. Send the link before the day

Put the same guest link in your wedding message or invitation. Tell people what it is for: “Add your photos from our wedding here.” Include the link as text as well as a QR code when you send it digitally, so someone reading on their phone can tap it.

  4. Put the sign somewhere guests can pause

Download the printable sign from your album. Place it at the welcome table or on tables where people can reach it, away from glare and spills. Keep the invitation to add photos close to the code. Ask your helper to mention it when people have time to use their phones.

  5. Try it as a guest before you print

Scan a printed proof with a phone that is not signed in to your account. Open the guest page, add a test photo and check that it arrives in your album. Try the passcode and approval settings you chose. At the venue, check the mobile signal or Wi-Fi too: adding photos needs an internet connection.

  6. Ask once more, then keep a copy

After the wedding, send the same link with a short thank-you and a reminder to add photos before your upload window closes. Look through the photos and download the originals while your album is still available. Downloading everything is free. Keep a copy somewhere you control rather than relying on the album to stay open forever.

Keep in mind

  • A QR sign is an invitation, not a way to collect photos automatically. Guests choose what to add.
  • The guest link can be passed on. Use the gallery, passcode and approval controls to suit your plans; an album is not a replacement for asking permission.
  • Guest photos add another view of the day. They do not replace a photographer or your own backup.
